It started three years ago...
Following the Second Impact, the domed city of Corinth was created in the event of another global catastrophe. The experimental city, located in Sri Lanka, was to be entirely self-sufficient, in the event of a massive, enviromental-shattering disaster. Venjix, a specialized computer network, was created by Alphabet Soup to control its day-to-day functions and defenses.
And then one day, it got out.
Pre-Second Impact: The Britanian Empire (see Strike Witches and Code Geass) establishes Alphabet Soup, a secret thinktank who kidnap child geniuses and exploit them for their research.
"Dr. K," "Gem," and "Gemma" are kidnapped and raised by Alphabet Soup.
Post-Impact: Corinth created, with Venjix as its computer network.
12 AI: By as-yet unknown means, Venjix became an outright computer virus, which infected computer networks across the world. Dr. K escaped to Corinth, bringing with her the RPM Series morphers.
Venjix proceeded to nuke all of Sri Lanka and much of the surrounding area. Any human it located was considered a target.
15 AI: Before the White Chalice's adventures started, Corinth located Venjix Palace and sent a strike team, Eagle Squad, to take it out. Meanwhile, the last survivors of Venjix's most devastating assault were escorted to Corinth, with Lt. Scott Truman running air support. Eagle Squad was shot down, with Corinth's entire air force destroyed protecting the survivors.
Scott was one of the pilots who survived, but he was the only one remaining of Eagle Squad. His older brother, Marcus, had died leading the team on their disastrous run.
Gem and Gemma disappeared during the Battle of Corinth, along with the experimental Series Gold and Silver morphers. They are on special assignment, destroying Alphabet Soup facilities, with Col. Truman's blessing.
Corinth sealed itself off from the rest of the world, convinced that Venjix or any other one of the various threats had finished off everyone else on the planet.
16 AI: Corinth lowers its primary shield for the first time in a year when Dillon, a human with Venjix technology implanted in his body, appears in the wasteland, guided by an escapee from the city, Ziggy, and both join the team as Rangers Black and Green.
The White Chalice makes first contact with Corinth. Tenaya 7 is introduced as one of Venjix's generals, and the Rangers join the Chalice when Venjix begins attacking the outside world again. Power Rangers RPM begins.
